Lot Description

An early Victorian silver salver, the shaped circular form with applied foliate scroll rim enclosing a florally engraved centre with further scrollwork and central monogram and raised on three conforming foliate scroll feet. Hallmarked London 1849, maker's mark partly worn but probably Joseph & Albert Savory. Maximum diameter measuring 12 inches (30.5 cm), weight 28.85 ozt (897.4 grams).

Postage: Postable

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

The salver is quite tarnished throughout and would benefit from a clean and polish. Otherwise appears in fairly good overall condition, displaying some expected surface wear, marks and scratches consistent with age and use. Some heavier scratches and surface nicks are visible, especially visible around the central monogram. Hallmarks are located to the underside, they are rubbed but legible, maker's mark partly worn.
