Lot Description

A set of late Victorian silver teaspoons, each with a twisted stem and Apostle terminal, contained within an associated case, hallmarked Birmingham 1894, maker's mark obscured. Together with a matched loose set of six silver coffee spoons, each with a seal top terminal and florally enamelled decoration to the reverse of the bowls, hallmarked Henry Clifford Davis, Birmingham 1948 and 1949. Gross weight 3.5 ozt (109 grams).

Total lot weight: No

In fair condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Some of the twisted stems on the Apostle spoons are bent with minor loss of definition to the terminals, the fitted case is split along the hinged back and the material is starting to lift. The stems on the coffee spoons also appear a little bent. Maker's marks obscured on the Apostle spoons, other hallmarks clear and legible. Hallmarks slightly rubbed on the coffee spoon but still legible.
