Lot Description
A late Victorian silver mounted glass ink pot, the glass body of oval faceted form with silver flat top hinged cover and knopped finial, on a tapering oval stand with raised sides and oblique gadrooned rim. Hallmarked Horace Woodward & Co Ltd., London 1899. Length of stand 7 3/4 inches (19.5cm) and weight 4.22 ozt (131.4 grams).

Ink pot with some surface scratches and some nicks to edges, silver hinged cover with surface scratches and tarnishing, maker's marks slightly rubbed, lid is bent and does not close flush, and has two slight knocks to sides. Stand with surface scratches and tarnishing, hallmarks rubbed.
