Lot Description

An early eighteenth century silver trefid spoon, the terminal monogram engraved with further initials verso, the bowl with applied rat-tail to heel. Hallmarked to stem reverse, only lion passant and leopard head visible. Length measuring 7 5/8 inches (19.5 cm), weight 1.58 ozt (49.3 grams).

Displaying tarnishing and surface wear, marks, scratches and nicks in keeping with the age and use. Minor edge nicks/dints to terminal. Tip of bowl is slightly worn down on one side so appears a little uneven in shape. Some visible cracks to and around rat-tail, possible repairs? Hallmarks very worn, lion passant and leopard head just visible.
