Lot Description
A George III silver sugar basket with blue glass liner, of oval pedestal form with pierced stylised foliate ovals between pierced upper and lower borders, beneath a beaded rim and swing handle and raised upon an oval stepped base with conforming bead detail to edge. Hallmarked London 1784. Length 5 1/2 inches (14cm), weight 7.24 ozt (225.2 grams).

Condition Report
Basket with surface scratches, marks and tarnishing commensurate with age and use. Some nicks to edge of foot and rim. Split where beaded rim applied. Handle slightly bent and does not sit flush against basket. Basket has further indistinct mark, probably a maker's mark. Thick blue glass liner with pitted surface appearance, not believed to be post production, and some scratches and nicks to edge. Glass liner fits well in basket.
