Full Lot Description
Two George V silver mounted jewellery boxes, one of oval, cylindrical form, with swag and wreath engraving to hinged lid and repeated scroll border to lid and base, upon pierced, stepped feet, hallmarked George Nathan & Ridley Hayes, Chester 1910, the other of larger, circular form with similar decoration to tortoiseshell hinged lid, hallmarked Birmingham 1915. Together with a filigree trinket box, the scrolling detail surrounding central, floral motif. (3)

<li>Items showing varying degrees of surface scratching, wear, marks and tarnishing.
<li>Filigree box is testing around 95% Ag. Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.
<li>Fellows does not guarantee the standard of silver, gold or platinum unless an item is hallmarked. Results from electronically tested items should only be used as a guide and with caution, as false readings are possible.
<li>Oval example wobbles slightly on stepped feet, and has some patches of darker tarnishing to left side, but silver overall is shiny and bright.
<li>The larger, tortoiseshell example show heavy wear, the tortoiseshell lid is dull and dry, and one stepped foot is missing.
<li>Both oval and tortoiseshell boxes have velvet lining to interior, that is showing wear, age and losses, and is unstable and able to be moved from base.
<li>Filigree box shows dirt and residue within interior.
