Full Lot Description
A George III silver pierced small basket with swing handle, of oval form, the reeded and engraved rim leading to a band of foliate piercing, with a further band of geometric vertical piercing to central bowl and tapered base of conforming design. Hallmarked Joseph Scammell, London 1792. Maximum length 7" (17.6cm), weight 4.41 ozt (137.3 grams).

<li>Item in fair condition considering age and use, with general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing.
<li>Central bowl shows a few surface nicks and deeper scratches, with some areas appearing bumpy.
<li>Plain band between pierced detail also appears slightly bumpy and uneven in some areas.
<li>Base shows a considerable bash to thinner side.
<li>Darker tarnishing is evident around hinge of swing handle and to base.
<li>Swing handle is self supporting.
