A pair of mid-20th century silver candlesticks, each having conical caged base raised on hardstone, leading to tapered, panelled column and planished capital of conforming design, decorated with applied and twin opposed gilt University of Birmingham and other coat of arms. Hallmarked Stanley G Morris, Birmingham 1961. Height 7.5" (19cm)

- Items show general moderate surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing.
- Capitals are deeply scratched and marked.
- Conical base shows thick polish residue.
- Hardstone plinth within frame appears very dirty and stained.
- Texture to columns appear quite bumpy and uneven.
- Hallmarks are clear and legible..
- Edges to hardstone are chipped.
- Interior to capitals shows wax residue.
- Case shows some wear but is in good working order.
