Full Lot Description
A George III silver vinaigrette, the curved rectangular form decorated with Greek key, floral and stippled borders, and opening to a silver-gilt interior with foliate pierced grille. Hallmarked Thomas Tompson, Birmingham 1805. Length 3.5cm, gross weight 26g.

Condition Report
- Displaying some general surface wear, marks and scratches.
- Some fairly heavy tarnishing all over and a darker patch to the base.
- A few minor nicks and dints, especially around edges and corners.
- Heavier surface wear and rubbing to areas of the decoration causing some loss of detail.
- Hinge pin protruding a little on one side, lid closes securely but does rise up again a little bit.
- Grille shows some surface damage around the hinge and it is quite stiff to open and close, further surface damage to reverse of grille; mainly flaking, bobbly surface and pitting.
- Hallmarks located to interior, a little rubbing and distortion but all still legible; grille appears unmarked.
