Full Lot Description
A Chinese export silver toothpick holder, the cylindrical form decorated with chrysanthemum flowers on a textured surface, and raised on a circular foot, with maker's mark for Woshing (Shanghai, circa 1870-1910), height 5.5cm. Together with a circular lidded pot and cover, decorated with figurative panels, possibly deities, maximum diameter 8cm. Total weight 4ozt (125g). (2).

Condition Report
- Both pieces displaying some general surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing, commensurate with age and use.
- The maker's mark on the toothpick holder is located to the base of the foot rim and is clean and clear; also on the base, opposite the mark, there is a small gap, but this is possibly where the metal joined so therefore part of the construction.
- The circular pot bears a mark around the rim 'V.75'; the lid appears unmarked.
- The pot tests around 80% Ag overall.
- Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.
