A Victorian silver snuff box, the rectangular form with scroll edge enclosing engine -turned panels throughout and a presentation engraving to hinged lid, opening to a silver-gilt interior. Hallmarked Edward Smith, Birmingham 1848. Measuring 2 3/4 inches (7 cm) by 2 inches (5 cm), weight 2.9 ozt (90.4 cm).
'Presented to Mr Robert Jackson Churchwarden of Aston for his strict integrity in that Office, by his friend Edward Samuel Haycock 1849'.

Condition Report
The snuff box appears in good overall condition, displaying some tarnishing and general surface wear, marks and scratches commensurate with age and use. Residues of polish. Hinges appear in good working order. There appears to be erosion to gilded interior as surface appears pitted. Full hallmarks legible.
