Lot Description
A circular patch box and cover, possibly Cork, the plain form with florally engraved pull off lid. Marked with maker's mark only to base, 'W.M', possibly for William Martin, (circa 1720-37). Diameter measuring 3.1 cm, weight 14.7 grams.

Condition Report
The box displays some general tarnishing and surface wear, marks, scratches and nicks. A few dints and bumps. Visible seam line to both parts, and on the flange of lid this has developed into a small split. Contact marks due to the pulling on and off of the lid. Maker's mark to base only, lid appears unmarked.
